22 HOURS OF HUMANITY
"Everyone suffered out here as we suffered down there"
Luis Urzua.last miner to come out after the recue operation and beside him (right)President Pinera |
17 days after the collapse of the tunnel when authorities came to know about survival of these miners, hope rekindled again and a bore hole was made through which food, water, medicine and clothes were sent deep down half a kilometer.Momentum was build up and millions worth rescue operation was executed at a massive scale. In this fierce battle not only rescue workers played a pivotal role, but doctors ,nutritionists and engineers played a very significant role in shaping up the success of the operation. Each miner was wearing a headset to talk to the rescue team. NASA prepared a 13 foot capsule called Phoenix which pulled up the miners and rescue workers. At last it was life which won the battle over death..It was the victory of mankind above all it was victory of Human Spirits .Truly seeing such an operation one can believe that nothing is impossible in life, given it a chance.
People outside the mine were singing patriotic song.People across nation of Chile were glued to television and burst out in joy after every miner was rescued. It was a historic day in life of every Chilean.Emotions flooded among everyone.one of the When the last miner Luis Urzua came out it was the moment to celebrate.
Mining is one of the most importance business which is carried out in this country and the San Jose mine was ignored as it was a small scale mining company..Even the miners were underpaid and they lacked basic amenities.
I personally believe there should be proper reforms for the mining industry in such a country for which it is a primary resource and President Pinera has promised also for a better future for the whole mining industry. He has accepted the faults and has assured to fix them up.
From this incident lessons have been learnt and new standards have been achieved in the rescue field operation..The Chile mine rescue operation has set up an example to the world but at the same time will be there a change in life of survived miners. That can be seen only in coming months.
"Three months from now, what will I be doing? Selling candy on the beach? Wondering what the government has done for us? Nothing," said Edison Pena. "I'm very afraid and I would like for things to change.
Regards
Nikhil
