WILL UNBORN SEE A DAY?

"I don't have any food, and I am sick with pain all over my body," said Kanjo Mai, a seven month pregnant who lost everything in floods.

Much have have been talked about Pakistan's devastating floods and the rescue work which is believed to be in full swing but many are doubting the appropriate funtioning of the work. Several women are left devastated after the deadly floods in Pakistan. These women have a different story to tell. These effected women have lost their shelter, they dont have medicine, they lack treatment assistance and above all they are pregnant .

Dr. Saima Ismail is a gynecologist working with survivors in Sindh. She says there is an urgent need for female doctors. "The number of patients has increased by 60 to 80 percent. People come 24 hours a day. Most are coming with miscarriages, and some are going into labor early. Both the maternal and prenatal mortality rates have increased," she said.

This is a great concern for the country. Many female health workers have assembled in relief camps to help the victims. As they are not the doctors they can only collect facts about the effected pregnant women.Only food relief is being supplied still doctors have not reached the effected areas. There are also report about men harassing female health workers in camp. There is a great gender divide in this country.

Women are being ignored in such cases. There has to be a solution for such problems.Their voice is not being heard.Even the female health workers are helpless as they are not able to get female doctors in the effected area. The question here lies is why this whole society is divided in such a way. There has tobe a medium which can be broken..Most of the pregnant women if not given medicine at this time will die in course. They are already shaken and is under a thrusting depression.

Women in Pakistan are suppressed by the male dominant society. Most of them are victims of social and economic desecration. They were already suffering, these floods had just added sorrow to their pain.A woman's right to liberty is restricted in the name of modesty, protection and prevention of immoral activities. There is a broader spectrum of  women exploitation in a country like Pakistan.Women are unheard and always ignored.Atleast for god sake, now Pakistan should take a stand, should take effective care of women and children.Atleast now they should realize the importance of humanity and should stop treating women like slaves.Even Benazir Bhutto was assasinated but if she would have been alive things would have been different which could hahave prosper Pakistan in a better sense.

Still in the 21st century, in many areas in Pakistan, women are not allowed to go to school. In many areas of Baluchistan, Sindh, North West Frontier Province, southern Punjab, it is impossible to see a woman in the markets or on the streets.

According to SocialistAlternative.org For them, domestic violence, sexual harassment, rape, gang rape, injustice, forced marriages, honour killings and brutality are the realities of every day life. Discrimination against them is very visible in every field of life. 73% of women in the countryside labour in the rural economy, but no official report ever mentions their contribution.

The government should immediately sent female doctors to such camps where these women have been assembled. There is great fear that an outbreak of human disease or waterborne disease will knock the door of Pakistan anytime.Parademics should be given the uttermost priority. There should be  no hindrance from the local men to these Female Health Workers who have come out to help these pregnant women. If these women are not saved it wont be wrong to say "The Unborn Won't See the Sunlight."......

STRUGGLE OF THE WOMEN

"A women should be respected and appreciated in all means as they are the creaters of universe and they are the ones who balance the society in a non barbaric manner'-Nikhil

WORKING AT THE FENCE

WORKING AT THE FENCE

"According to information available to the US government, [Pakistan militant group] Tehreek-e-Taliban plans to conduct attacks against foreigners participating in the ongoing flood relief operations in Pakistan," the official said.

"Tehreek-e-Taliban also may be making plans to attack federal and provincial ministers in Islamabad," the official told the AFP news agency on condition of anonymity. Telegraph

The foreign workers may face hard time during the rescue and relief procedure in Pakistan.Even when the country is facing such huge problem such instability is widely visible The Pakistan Taliban is planning to kidnap foreign aid workers who will assist  in the rescue work after this devastating floods which has engulfed more than a million of people. This is the first kind of warning after the nation was uprooted by this deadly floods. However,In beginning of the month Taliban urged pakistan to reject Aid assistance from foreign countries especially United States.

We condemn American and other foreign aid and believe it will lead to subjugation. Our jihad against America will continue," said spokesman for the group, Azam Tariq.
United States is heavily critized in Pakistan and that is the obvious reason why Taliban wants to target foreign workers. For US it may be, the opportunity which they had lost in past, to gain the support of people of Pakistan. At the same time banned Islamist groups are also providing aid through charity to win hearts of pakistanis.DAILY CALLER reports that Pakistani Taliban wants foreign flood aid rejected..Even when such massive floods have hit the country both the parties want to win hearts of the people.

But the road to survival is very difficult one, not only for the people but also for those who are helping in the rescue work.Previously also many foreign workers have been killed by Taliban in parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan. They always target medical workers,Journalsit and NGO.Few weeks back Taliban shot dead a foreign group in Afghanistan.http://australianetworknews.com/stories/201008/2976501.htm?desktop

There is always constant danger working in such countries. You never know when the next bullet will shot you down. You never know when will be your blood will flow in thwe waters of the floods. The people who go on front to help the affected once should be really appreciated and saluted because more than money, and assistance, they are offering something more and that is their life.....Extreme temperatures,Unhealthy conditions, deadly fences and contrains are some of the challenges the foreign workers have to bare during such operations.

It is really difficult and takes abundant courage even to take that dicision to go out and work for the people who have a ray of hope

I believe warning (Taliban warnings)can create a negative implication on the aspect of the humanity and also on buliding up a better relation.During such catastrophe one should not fill the air with such negativity rather they should help the sufferers but as we say everybody wants to have their show rolling. To some extent Pakistan is witnessing the same........

Despite such warning UN has decided to continue its aid effort. With that spirit I pray for all the rescue  workers including pakistani and foreign official who are helping to save humanity.

THE LOST FUTURE-Road to dead end....

ROAD TO DEAD END

First of all I would like to thank all the people who have shared their views on my previous posts.Well as I am covering Pakistan Floods there has been a lot of discussion on the aid as well as the future of Pakistan.Today i would like to share my views on the Democracy in Pakistan.

"The Pakistan floods have also weakened the standing of Zardari, who did not return from a trip to Europe when the crisis began, as well as parliamentarians generally, who have in many cases been notably absent from their home constituencies. The Army, meanwhile, which has ruled Pakistan for roughly half of its 63 year existence, has profited from some good PR"The Christian Science Monitor

Well Pakistan has been walking on a thin thread of politics for the past 6 decades.Never a stable government have been able to sustain its tenure.Pakistan has been under the influence of its military almost since it was founded. The Intelligence agencies have a huge role in the politics since the beginning in making and breaking the political parties. The country has been ruled by both democratic and military governments. The first decade was marred with political unrest and instability resulting in frequent collapses of civilian democratic governments. From 1947 to 1958 as many as seven Prime Ministers of Pakistan either resigned or were ousted.Well that was the beggining of this lost future.Later the powers went in the hands of Ayub khan and Yahah khan subseqentely brought negative air in the environment. The country saw controversial  rule of Bhhutto family also created an political embargo.Later the President rule under Musharaf was one of the dark age in its democracy. The assasination of Benarzir Bhutto was the biggest political jolt in the history of Pakistan. After her assasination the politics in Pakistan lost its charmList of Prime Mnisters in Pakistan. There is always a continous blame game for a progressing government.

Terrorist attacks everyday  takes place which dilutes the fragnance of democracy in the country. It cannot be relied either for its nuclear non-credibility.It is believed that there if  free access to terrorist organization regarding nuclear activity.Nuclear Terrorism.Well for obvious reason one can thank A Q khan,
A. Q. KHAN
A controversial figure who can be responsible in taking nuclear programme seeds among "Non State Actors"
One of the biggest problem of this country is of various local government which proves to be a barricade for  the national government.
Morover blacklisted terrorist organization
such as Jamat-Ud-Dawa a unit of LeT is still
active in the country which is a vital concern in South Asia.

At time when we think that Pakistan will breathe for its democracy for longer period a problem is stuck .Because of Pakistan instability the whole South Asia is unstable.Recently terrorist blast took place near Peshawer. Despite Pakistan facing the biggest debacle of floods such terrorist attacks are nothing but a road to dead end.Peshawer Attack.

Well people are angry with the present government. It will be really interesting to see this developing story over the power imbalance in the country and in what shape this country will mould.President Zardari has said the country will take two or more years to recover from the devastating FLOODS but the question here lies is will pakistan ever be able to stand on its feet in the midst of terror breakdown and blame shade polity.

Please Share your views-what you think of the future of Pakistan. Is it really standing on the road to dead end or it has any future which is not lost?

Thanks and Regards

AID FILTERS IN

UNITED WE STAND-HUMANITY OR WORLD STABILITY

After the devastating floods ravaged large parts of Pakistan International Organization flushed their support to the engulfed country.
NATO-The North Atlantic Treaty Organization has decided to provide help though airlift and sealift for delivery of relief materials donated by nations and humanitarian relief organization. The first NATO flight from Slovakia is expected to touch ground by sunday to provide relief such as generaters ,motorpumps and generators.
The aid is in response to the request made by the Pakistan government to Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Ccoordination Centre in Brussels.

Calls from Ottaawa also have been made to Islambad for more flood relief assistance.Individual donation by each canadian will provide a larger canopy of relief and hope.
http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/article/850941--ottawa-to-match-individual-donations-to-pakistan-flood-relief

World Bank has agreed to hike grants to I billion dollars from the proposed 900 million dollars.

Well one of the most engaging dimension of Pakistan floods is the help offered by India of 5 million USD.

Well the humanitarian relief is being eyed from different angle and there has been a lot of debate on this scenerio.
The core point here is this is a country which is perceived as the soil for sowing seeds of terrorissm for ages and during such a debacle the whole world has united to save this country.Pakistan has self ravaged itself for various reason in the past.It has become the state of Non-State actors. Its really interesting to see the development story  of Islamist group such as Jamat-ud-Dawa who are also helping the flood porne area.Everyone wants to make their presence felt in this unstable country to win people's heart. If this country is left on its own fate the whole South Asian region will get distabilize.Pakistan is going through one of the worst phase. There is a need to protect this nation from more misery and unstablity. The fear of capturing of innocents for terrorist activity is a major concern and that has to be curbed really effectively. There is a deeper meaning behind providing aid to Pakistan despite the humanitarian angle.

If i can draw more angle to it,Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia or U.A.E have not flusshed aid to the country. It is the west which has offered help on wider spectrum.Corruption and military misuse is one the concern i am bothered with.the money should be used in a appropriate manner. The money should not land up in dirty hands. Many people argue that Pakistan should not be helped on such a large basis.I leave this thought to you ,is world saving the country for humanity or for stability of world order?

Please share your views on this heart wrenching incident. Its more than than the HUMANITY

My next blog will be where the world is leading with such catastrophe.Till then take care

RAY OF HOPE

Surviving stories after the deadly floods in Pakistan

"We cry and laugh both. But we laugh because god saved us from death"

As the floodwater levels are decreasing in the parts of Pakistan many horrifying stories are unveiling. It seems hope is the only lifeboat sprawling in the waters. Families and friends are in total state of perturbation. In this closed facet there is a women Siraj Begum who inspires many in her town of Pabbi in hard hit district of Nowshera.

Sirag, mother of eight, recalls that when they were having breakfast around 9am water gushed in their locality. When water reached their ceiling they ran up to the roof where they stayed for next few days. As helicopter were buzzing in the sky over their roof siraj and family found themselves tangled in getting any help from the chopper.Siraj says that she was using wrong hand signals that pilot didn't understand.Later she was told to wave some sheets or shawl in order to get help from the flying aid carriers .on seeing waving shawls the helicopter dropped some water ,juice and biscuits. She laughs on the way she tried  to get help.

later she ended up in a refuge center at a school with other 200 families. In her native Pastun she tells her experience and her grandchildren listen to her as if they are listening to a ghost story

Thousands of villagers have lost their houses and livestock in this mayhem. As hope rekindles after a week ,many villagers have been forced to claw through mud to retrieve what is left of their belongings.Even Siraj begum hope to return to her village. If she has survived such aftermath i believe she will definitely find her way back on the track of life.

This is one brave heart story which speaks for thousands in Pakistan.I'll put some more surviving stories in my upcoming blog.

During such catastrophe one should think from the humanity point of view rather than seeing it as a concern of a particular nation. Following this floods many hurdles are rolling down deadly widespread diseases, rise in price of food and despite help from militants, the fear of spreading the nexus of terrorism.

Pakistan
The nation thriving for hope and life.

Hope you had nice time reading this particular story.Pray for the unfortunate ones and please help them if possible through donation-You can donate through this link-Diplomacy in action

INTERNATIONAL RELATION-PAKISTAN TURMOIL

Dear Patrons,

This is Nikhil Bhushan and my blog will be regarding  International  Relation.I am studying journalism and my interest will be the world affairs.
In this world we need a great understanding and in depth knowledge to analyze every spectrum of our life.In this 21st century we need to think through the view of globalization rather than subjected to national spectrum. There is one thing common among each country in this world-everyone is heading for a better and secure future. With this hope the world is progressing at a rapid speed. The essence of international relation lies in the celluloid of being connected even though we are not related.

To begin with one of  the most prominent story which is buzzing around the world is the turmoil in Pakistan

"The International Organization for Migration says there is a desperate need for emergency shelter and other relief items in the north and center of Pakistan as floods continue to spread.  The IOM says more shelter will be needed as the floods continue to move from north to south, displacing growing numbers of people downstream in Punjab and Sindh provinces.

Pakistani officials estimate about 250,000 homes in the northwestern part of the country have been destroyed or severely damaged by the floods.  This, they say, has left at least one-and-one-half million people homeless.

To date, the government's National Disaster Management Authority reports more than 50,000 tents have been distributed to affected families.

The Geneva-based International Organization for Migration is coordinating the distribution of emergency shelter by the government and humanitarian aid agencies.

Brian Kelly, who heads IOM's emergency response unit in Islamabad, says too many people still have no protective cover from the ongoing torrential rains.

"The movement of people has been significant," Kelly said. "Just for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, there are at least 310 different locations where people have moved to schools, mosques, government buildings, army barracks, stadiums and, what we would call, collective centers.  There are also about five very informal camps and well over 100 spontaneous settlements, primarily located on the roadside, because the road is higher than the surrounding farmland area."

Kelly says many people are along the road.  He says they have no assistance and are completely exposed to the stifling heat and rain.

He says aid agencies on the ground have distributed all of their existing stock.  He says the floods have damaged many of the tents and other shelter material in local warehouses.

Kelly says aid agencies are hampered by lack of supplies and accessibility to certain areas, but are doing their best to fill the needs of the displaced flood victims.

"Overall, the strategy is looking at shelter kits," Kelly said. "That is plastic tarpaulins, as well as some rope and other materials, to help people in the extremely overcrowded collective centers, living in the schools, the government buildings and also providing non-food items to them."

Kelly says it is particularly critical to get tents to the people living in spontaneous settlements along the roadside.  He is appealing to the international community to send tents that meet international standards as quickly as possible."The Report

Pakistan is having tough time apart from the floods issues. In my next blog post  I'll throw ample light on the surviving stories in Pakistan.Hope you enjoyed  the report and I'll be glad if you share your views.

May the victims get the best aid as soon as possible.
