RAY OF HOPE

Surviving stories after the deadly floods in Pakistan

"We cry and laugh both. But we laugh because god saved us from death"

As the floodwater levels are decreasing in the parts of Pakistan many horrifying stories are unveiling. It seems hope is the only lifeboat sprawling in the waters. Families and friends are in total state of perturbation. In this closed facet there is a women Siraj Begum who inspires many in her town of Pabbi in hard hit district of Nowshera.

Sirag, mother of eight, recalls that when they were having breakfast around 9am water gushed in their locality. When water reached their ceiling they ran up to the roof where they stayed for next few days. As helicopter were buzzing in the sky over their roof siraj and family found themselves tangled in getting any help from the chopper.Siraj says that she was using wrong hand signals that pilot didn't understand.Later she was told to wave some sheets or shawl in order to get help from the flying aid carriers .on seeing waving shawls the helicopter dropped some water ,juice and biscuits. She laughs on the way she tried  to get help.

later she ended up in a refuge center at a school with other 200 families. In her native Pastun she tells her experience and her grandchildren listen to her as if they are listening to a ghost story

Thousands of villagers have lost their houses and livestock in this mayhem. As hope rekindles after a week ,many villagers have been forced to claw through mud to retrieve what is left of their belongings.Even Siraj begum hope to return to her village. If she has survived such aftermath i believe she will definitely find her way back on the track of life.

This is one brave heart story which speaks for thousands in Pakistan.I'll put some more surviving stories in my upcoming blog.

During such catastrophe one should think from the humanity point of view rather than seeing it as a concern of a particular nation. Following this floods many hurdles are rolling down deadly widespread diseases, rise in price of food and despite help from militants, the fear of spreading the nexus of terrorism.

Pakistan
The nation thriving for hope and life.

Hope you had nice time reading this particular story.Pray for the unfortunate ones and please help them if possible through donation-You can donate through this link-Diplomacy in action

  2. firstly thanks Rushda for sharing your view....truly Pakistan is in a turmoil state and one should not see it from only one scenario .If a nation is crawling on such a wire of disaster it may lead to fall of nationhood.
